I found that the majority of my financial planning clients who formed relationships in their 50's and 60's did indeed combine their finances however on my advice, have implemented very secure estate plans to ensure that their assets pass to whom they would like. This includes comprehensive Wills, Enduring Power of Attorney and Enduring Guardianship documents along with binding death benefit nominations made through their superannuation funds.
